An Economy and Mail System
Guild Wars needs to have an Economy in the sense that it needs to make it easier to buy and sell items without spamming all channels with WTS and WTB's. If something like an auction is created where you can bid on items, and the seller can decide a minimum price or item. This way, people can place things on auction and leave the game. When they come back either check the auction house or something like a mailbox and find whether it sold or not. There should probably be a time limit on how long an auction will run and the seller will have the choice of selling it to a merchant or taking the item back. What do you guys think?

I smell World of Warcraft all over the thread, with the items being sent to mailbox idea...
Auction houses and ingame mail server has been requested a number of times now. In future use the search function.
Both your ideas are good however and I really hope A.net comes up with something good soon to kill off some of the trade spam in large cities like Ascalon and Lion's Arch.

It's good idea and I'm pretty sure some kind of auction system will be made later. Right now they are focusing on different things, because making working auction system takes a whole lot of time.
And thats pretty standard system for auction system(auction house + mailbox), I'm sure plenty of MMORPG's have had it before WoW, atleast FFXI did. But don't forget, Guild Wars isn't really a MMORPG.

Actually, it's Competitive Online RPG, not Co-Operative RPG.
And yes, auction house would be nice.
